Greg grew up in Southern California and attended college and grad schools in California, Colorado, and Michigan. Over his career, he has worked in the nonprofit sector, marketing for technology and architecture firms, and in commercial publishing—seeing most of the USA and big chunks of the globe in the process. In 2006, he founded Black Lake Studio to help entrepreneurs, nonprofits, and thought leaders to tell their stories and make a difference in their worlds.
As Black Lake’s owner, Greg develops new project concepts with clients, provides creative direction to the team, and represents Black Lake within the local community and to colleagues around the country. He no longer does much active designing, but still writes and edits plenty of content. In fact, Greg has written, co-authored, or edited dozens of books and articles, including fiction and non-fiction, on subjects as diverse as business management, history, contemporary events, and religion.
Outside Black Lake, Greg does lots of public speaking, writing, and painting. He is actively involved in ministry and mission work. For fun, Greg enjoys spending as much time with his family as possible, almost anything that takes place outdoors, sports, traveling to explore the world, books and art, and learning as much as he can about as many things as possible. With wine.
