Cory came to Holland to earn his B.A. in English literature and history at Hope College, and after graduating, coming to work at Black Lake, and getting married, he ended up staying in the area. He’s excited to be part of the West Michigan Renaissance and to serve ministries, businesses, and thought leaders with his communication and organizational skills.
Cory’s role at Black Lake includes writing and editing (copywriting, proofreading, publishing, etc.), administrative tasks (managing projects, communicating with clients, taking notes, etc.), and “other duties as required” (erasing the whiteboards, restocking the Keurig, trying not to kill the plants, etc.). He keeps the Black Lake team organized and on-course while collaborating with team members and clients alike to strategize and create. Even if Cory isn’t primarily working on a particular aspect of a project, he’s almost certainly providing support, backup, and feedback.
Aside from work, Cory is interested in and involved with Jesus Christ, literature, history, theology, blogging, church activities, hiking, camping, dancing (badly), and generally being a geek.
